I know this has been mentioned before, but what're the chances of it working? I think the major problem would be the bearing on the gearbox on the rear, which is 8x12x3.5 on the RC18, and 6x10x? on the Shark/Blaze, so in theory it might be possible.

What do people reckon? I just thought I'd mention it after seeing Craigs car on Oople a few weeks ago.

i had been thinking about this, or the recoil slipper in the longer chassis,

i'd imagine that to make it work on the molded tub chassis would be very difficult.

Yeah that was my thought, I guess the only other way to do it would be to stick with the 6mm shaft but make a 6-8mm shim for the slipper to sit on, and bond it to the shaft, which wouldn't be ideal but would work.

Also in the past it has been mentioned that the pitch on the spur would be a problem, but I think if you had access to a lathe it wouldn't be too hard to mod a blaze spur to fit properly, or just run a RC18 pinion, which if you're running a Mongoose you can get from Novak anyway.
